On Thursday January 24, 2019 in an interview given to the editorial staff of Fraternité Matin, the Minister of Hydraulics Laurent TCHABGA in the presence of Minister Sidi TOURE unveiled the major actions of the government in terms of accessibility to drinking water.
In 2017, the government, to solve the problem of drinking water supply, adopted the "Water For All" program at a cost of 1320 billion FCFA, this program aims overall to allow 95% of the population to have access to drinking water.
Halfway through this program, the national rate was 80% in 2018 nationally, compared to 69% in 2016.
In addition, the social policy of the Head of State gives priority to all social aspects.
It is in this same perspective that the "Eau Pour Tous" program provides for the construction of 450 social connections, the rehabilitation of 21,000 pumps and the creation of 200 castles in 200 sub-prefectures.
Also, he meant that working sessions will be organized with other ministries such as that of mines and industry to always make quality water available to the populations.
